3 Ways Emptying The Oil Can Help

Often overlooked, emptying the oil from a changed compressor can help you in several ways.

  1. You can see if all the oil was removed from the system
  2. You can determine if the compressor was burned out, requiring a suction line drier to be installed and Acid Scavenger or Acid Away to be used.
  3. It makes brazing the suction line and discharge ports closed much easier
    a.   Remember the ports must be brazed closed before returning to the distributor or taken to the recycling facility
    b.   Always dispose of used oil in the proper manner per local laws
